This type of breathing should be done daily- before meditation because deep breathing relaxes the nervous system; during meditation because it stimulates the relaxation response; and after meditating to calm the mind and revitalize.
Stretching
When I’m stressed, going for a walk or run helps me burn it off. But even walking fast won’t help stretch my muscles. Yoga provides just that-a combination of asanas that stretch out your body and bring it into balance starting from the feet to your neck. This is essential as tight muscles can cause problems such as headaches and sciatica pain. As you stretch your limbs, you also increase flexibility which prevents injuries, improves posture and enhances quality of life. The more flexible we become, the better we feel about ourselves! Relaxation
The last aspect I love about yoga is the relaxation technique. Yoga teaches us to let go of our tensions and anxieties by focusing on our breathing while holding specific poses for a certain amount of time. As you continue doing this, your mind gets trained to focus more which makes it easier to let go of negative thoughts. This helps you become more resilient during tough times in life-be it at work or with family members.
